TV Presenter, Matthew Walker set to appear in new Amazon Studios; Red, White & Royal Blue Movie

It was a beautiful day in Valletta, Malta. I was about to walk on stage for a sound check when my phone rang. It was my friend and agent, the brilliant Corrie McGuire of Corrie McGuire Management. A few weeks previously, we'd self-taped for a role in the new Amazon Studios adaptation of Casey McQuiston, LGBT romance novel, Red, White & Royal Blue. Corrie was phoning to say that we'd been offered the role and were due to start filming in the coming months.

With the good news ringing in my ears, I dived on stage to complete sound check and went on to present a weekend of entertainment for the American Kids TV channel, Nickelodeon with a spring in my step.

Cut to early August and my driver, Mem is driving me to set for day 1 on the all-the-new Red, White & Royal Blue. Director, Matthew López was a gentleman and a joy to work with. Not to mention, Suzie in wardrobe, Juan Carlos in make-up, my co-performers, Helen & Anita and the rest of the cast and crew who made set a warm, welcoming and passionate place to work.

Red, White and Royal Blue stars Nicholas Galitzine, Uma Thurman and Taylor Zakhar Perez. The film is due for worldwide release in 2023.
