Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Premiere hosted by Matthew Walker
With the third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, ready to hit cinemas on 8th April 2022, the production team and I headed to Stoke-on-Trent to unveil a week-long installation of nine 15 feet tall replica wands - representing those belonging to some of the favourite characters in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.
As the sun set on a beautiful evening in Stoke, Wizarding World fans gathered in their thousands to watch the official light switch on and enjoy a dynamic wand training master class, led by wand choreographer Paul Harris.
As the main presenter, my job was to keep the crowds engaged and energised throughout whilst stitching the event together with informative links and leading the official countdown.
Councillor Lorraine Beardmore, Cabinet Member for Public Health, Culture and Leisure, said, “We are absolutely delighted to have this exciting installation here in Stoke-on-Trent and I want to say a huge thank you to the residents of the city for voting for us to be one of the locations, and huge thanks to Warner Bros and our partners who have helped make this happen."
Thank you to Lord Mayor Cllr Chandra Kanneganti and all of the crew for their tireless work and long hours behind the scenes.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be in cinemas from the 8th April 2022.
